Made with Love
CARE & MAINTENANCE

Make it last another generation.

Fine jewelry doesn't need a museum's care, but a few habits add decades of life: take rings off before sleep and the gym, store pieces in soft pouches (never piled together), clean with warm water + a soft brush every couple of weeks, and bring them in for a free professional clean and inspection once a year.

We'll show you exactly what to do at home — and what to leave to us.

DAILY HABITS

Five small things, big payoff.

1) Take rings off before sleep — pillows and bed frames are the biggest cause of bent prongs. 2) Take rings off before lifting weights, gardening, or anything with grip. 3) Apply lotions, sunscreen, and perfume before putting jewelry on, never after. 4) Store pieces in separate soft pouches or a lined box — diamonds scratch every other gem, including other diamonds. 5) Bring it in once a year for free professional cleaning and a prong inspection. Most lost stones are caught here.

WHEN TO BRING IT IN

Five signs to call us, not the YouTube cleaner.

1) The stone wiggles when you tap the setting — a prong has loosened and needs re-tightening. 2) White gold has yellowed slightly — rhodium plating has worn off and needs replating (free under our warranty). 3) Surface scratches you can feel with a fingernail — needs a professional polish, not a home buff. 4) The clasp on a chain doesn't close cleanly — gasket or spring fatigue, not a DIY fix. 5) You haven't been in for over a year — even if nothing seems wrong, our annual inspection often catches problems before they become expensive.

CAREQUESTIONS

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN
IT AT HOME?

Warm water, a drop of dish soap, and a soft toothbrush. Soak 10 minutes, brush gently around the stone and under the setting, rinse, pat dry. Avoid 'jewelry cleaning solutions' from drugstores — they're often abrasive or contain ammonia that damages porous stones (opal, pearl, emerald).

IS ULTRASONIC
SAFE?

For most diamonds and hard gemstones (sapphire, ruby), yes. Not safe for: emerald, opal, pearl, turquoise, treated stones, or pieces with loose stones (the vibration can dislodge them). When in doubt, drop it off — our annual inspection is free and includes ultrasonic cleaning for everything that handles it.

CAN I SHOWER
WITH MY RING ON?

Showering won't damage gold, platinum, or most stones — but soap residue dulls brilliance fast. More importantly, hot water and soap make rings slippery, and drains have eaten countless engagement rings. We recommend taking it off before showering, period.

WHAT ABOUT
SWIMMING POOLS?

No. Chlorine attacks gold alloy bonds and pits the metal — not visible after one swim, but cumulative damage over years. Saltwater is also tough on prongs and clasps. Take rings off before any pool, ocean, or hot tub. The same rule applies to bleach-based cleaning products.
